lean way over, and look down
this small balsam was short enough (thigh high) for me to stand over and shoot straight down onto. it would have been easier to photograph a christmas cookie. and the results would have looked very similar. i am joking…the results are pretty amazing aren’t they?

a different kind of holiday decor
the eye has a hard time avoiding red against a blanket of white and gray. i will need to re-train myself to look past these attention-grabbing crab apples we have everywhere if i want to find other STILL subjects. it’s like training yourself not to look at the flashing ads when using google. it’s possible. it just takes a moment to relearn the art of averting the eye.
