autumn upside down?

autumn upside down?

so, every year since i have started STILL, my oak leaves are the last to turn color in fall. sumac is always first, then cottonwood, then willow and maple…etc. etc….until eventually the oaks. this year feels a little upside down to me. i am sure it has something to do with the drought we had in july and august. the same can be said for the black acorn. usually the acorns drop while still partly green, and then quickly turn brown on my deck before i sweep them off. today, while sweeping in preparation for my 18 years olds birthday dinner, i found these two unusual specimens on my deck; a red white oak leaf in early september, and a perfect black acorn. it’s the little things that worry me sometimes.
