This is so beautiful (each one is like a little sculpture). Your photo triggered a childhood memory. My grandmother used to vacation in South Carolina each year and would come back with tiny shells that she would glue in rows. Rows and rows of little butterflies.
I totally get your grandmother: gather, sort, arrange. I think we all share that desire. It is just so deeply satisfying. That is why am loving this project. I get to do it every day. It is very centering.
