not a lily

i forget about orange in july. it is the perfect complement to green. so it makes perfect sense that orange would be the flower color of choice at this time of high summer, when our foliage is at its densest green. like yellow goldenrod and purple aster in fall, some combos are just meant to be: strawberries and cream. chablis and oysters. PB and J. macaroni and cheese. paris and springtime. pencil skirt and heels. suit and tie. bonnie and clyde. hall and oates. bert and ernie. thelma and louise. batman and robin. i can keep going if you’d like. anyway: green and orange. welcome to the club.
