we are celebrating this patriotic holiday week by flying to chicago to visit the french embassy to apply for long stay visas for five months this fall. we will be in minneapolis for the red, white and blue 4th of july.  and we will be among the bleu, blanc, rouge on july 5. asking meekly if the french nation will accept us for another séjour à longue durée. same colors. just a different order.
