happy leap day

happy leap day

Oh, seedpods! I love you so.  The days are getting noticeably longer. Here in Minnesota we are getting 11 hours of daylight now. Can you feel the shift in the color of the light too? A little bit more yellow, and less blue. I love these early signs of spring. So hopeful. I know spring arrives everywhere else in North America before it arrives at my door, tell me, what are you noticing? I will live vicariously through you.

Now you can plant a wisteria vine ;) Or maybe you already have one?
I’m relishing longer days, too. And a softer feel in the air, sunshine that feels warmer, a riot of blooming snow crocuses and snowdrops, swelling leaf buds on so many things, witch hazel in full bloom, an urge to dig in the soil, and no urge to go to bed at 6pm! And an extra bounce in my step on my daily walk! Doesn’t it feel just grand? If we had no winter, spring wouldn’t be so miraculous, would it?
