today we will bury my father. he was larger than life, complicated, charismatic and the center of gravity for my large, boisterous, and loving romanian family. we have planned a beautiful and irreverent funeral. afterwards, we will drink martinis with extra olives. it will be just as he would have wished. everybody called him Papa. he will be terribly missed.

Oh my goodness….my thoughts and my heart are with you.
your photographs inspire me, as I love coming to your site to see daily bits of nature. it sounds as though you are celebrating and remembering a wonderful man. my thoughts are with your family on this day.
Condoleante…
I have been visiting StillBlog for a few months now (I did go through every single photo in a big gulp of stillness though), but I have never commented. Today is a special day for you and I just wanted to say that my heart is still with yours. Every day, you inspire me to be present, to pay attention, to rejoice in a single breath of fresh air… I think your father did good by the world!
My sadness for your loss. Lost my dad in 2005. Still feel the hole in my heart. He has become clearer to me in the years since his passing, which is the gift he gave me. Remember the good and bad days and his life as a wonderful dad to you and your family. Cherish the gift of being his daughter. Move forward in love.
Condolences and thoughts are with you. I just recently found Still, and I’m very sorry to hear of your loss. Your image today is especially powerful. I will be thinking of you.
thinking of you and your family and tonight when i have a glass of wine i will toast your papa and wish him a brilliant journey to the other side
Your work and life are so beautiful. Your father must have been a very proud man. Thinking of you all this day…
My condolences. I will have a martini in his honor, as well!
i wish i could fly to wherever you all are and give you each a big hug. thank you. thank you.
I’m so sorry about the passing of your Papa, Mary Jo. I like the way you describe him as the “center of gravity”.
