monterey pines are native to a tiny strip of coastal california that just happens to be some of the most beautiful country in the world. they are also the most widely planted pine tree in the world, having found their way to chile, australia, and new zealand as plantation trees. apparently, they didn’t get the memo. nobody leaves the central coast of california. you don’t emigrate from there. you immigrate to there. come on, pinus radiata. snap out of it.

Are you ‘still’ in the Monterey area? I have some friends you might like to meet there. They have a nice ranch in Carmel Valley, and their family dates back there to the prePebble Beach founding. Actually, their family built the Del Monte Lodge and the two golf courses there. -John Forsman
Hi John,
Aww shucks, we are back in Minneapolis. We were in Carmel for three nights, staying at the Carmel Valley Ranch. I would have enjoyed meeting your friends. Darn, missed opportunity! There may be more chances in the future though as our daughter is seriously considering going to college in northern California. Fingers crossed.

So grateful that was a joke. Love the beauty you gather and offering each day.
