one of the reasons that STILL blog exists is that lisa congdon did her “collection a day” blog back in 2010, and showed me that you could fit art into the tiny spaces of a life, without having to commit, until you were ready, to being “an artist.” or maybe she taught me that fitting art into the tiny spaces of a life was the same thing as being “an artist.” in any case, one of my goals in starting this blog was to earn a place at the table of online creatives that included lisa, among many other personal creative and artistic heroes. and now, 4 years later, i’ve just returned from a meeting with some fellow twin cities creatives to put the final touches on an upcoming may weekend, when we will be welcoming our beloved lisa congdon into our city. it’s a closing of the circle that fills me with joy and gratitude and deep satisfaction. welcome, lisa! see you soon!
