as anyone knows who has ever dropped a double handful of spinach into a hot skillet, green leaves wilt in the presence of high heat. so i probably should have picked a different day to arrange this green badge of july leaves. the heat index as i worked was 98 degrees, and handling the individual leaves was like trying to make an arrangement out of rice paper and overcooked pasta.
