out of my element

i don’t own a tv. i couldn’t tell you what’s on a single channel right now, or at any point during an average day. i suppose in the morning there are probably some morning programs, and in the evening there is the evening news, and in prime time there is quite possibly something called prime time television. don’t press me any further than that. i got nothing. given all that, i have no idea what i was doing this afternoon at 3:00 pm, but apparently, i was on tv. a local station, KSTP, came out to film an interview about me, and about still blog, and about target and west elm, and they aired the episode today. when steve called me over to take a look at the clip, i felt a certain amount of dread. if hell exists and i end up there some day, i imagine it will be an eternity of watching myself on film. but i have to say, they did an absolutely brilliant job of capturing our family, or life here on turtle lake, and the spirit of this quirky, elusive project called still blog. and they did it somehow in four minutes of video. i might even have to admit . . . no, i can’t . . . ok, yes . . . i might even have to admit that i’m . . . a little . . . yes . . . proud of it.

Indeed, you are allowed to be even more than a little bit proud, so puff up a little, gal! I don’t own a TV either. We’re missing mostly nothing.
